Mommy and Me (or Granny and Me) Knitting Lessons

mainImage.jpgHave you always wanted to learn to knit or imagined yourself being crafty and knitting for, or with, your little ones? Local yarn shops around the city often offer knitting classes for people of all ages. Usually kids can start to learn to knit or crochet as young as 5 years old, depending on the child.

Reader, Sharon, submitted this tip about a great yarn store that offers Duet Knitting Classes for an adult and child to learn to knit together:

I visited the Lion Brand Yarn Studio on 15th Street this past Sunday. It is a wonderfully designed studio. There is a fabulous selection of yarn with a good range of pricing.

They offer many classes at different levels in knitting as well as crochet, and they have group offerings and private classes as well. I am very excited to know they also offer a duet class for a child and adult. My granddaughter and I chose a project and we will be taking classes in January. A perfect, lasting activity to do with your child especially as the cold weather sets in.
