When the temperatures outside keep active children inside, it's important to have a list of the best indoor activities for kids in Philadelphia. To that end, we've compiled the best indoor playgrounds near Philadelphia and spots with indoor play spaces near Philly for kids to let off steam. From the most energetic trampoline parks to the calming nooks of Montessori-style hang-outs, Philly's got something for your family.

Best Indoor Play Spaces in Philadelphia

1. Beehive at Bok — East Passyunk

This hip, award-winning play space designed for kids 7 and under reflects the iconic Bok building's creative small businesses and makers. 

2. InMovement — Queen Village, Bella Vista, NoLibs

Kids will love tumbling in the open play sessions or classes at this hot spot for gymnastics. Classes start at 16-months old and run all the way through adulthood.

3. Kids at Play — Philadelphia 

Roller coaster cars, a sensory room, ball pits, and a zip line are just some Kids at Play highlights. Open play here is best for toddlers through twelve year-olds.

4. Kith and Kin — Brewerytown 

Kids will love the playhouse and scarf launcher in this gathering spot, while grown-ups will love its cool, calm vibe. The space was designed especially with kids ages zero through five in mind.

5. Nest — Center City

After more than a decade, Nest's sought-after nature-themed play space has become a favorite among Philly parents of kids ages zero through six.

6. PlayArts — Fishtown

This artsy Montessori-style space is as beautiful to look at as it is fun to play in. The play space is designed for infants through age six, but classes are offered up through age twelve.  

7. Please Touch Museum — Fairmount Park

Ride the carousel or go down Alice's rabbit hole at Philly's premier children's museum. Best for kids ages six months through age eight.

8. Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse — Fairmount Park

Beloved and historic, Smith's free playhouse now includes a brand new rotating interactive play space on the second floor, plus Tinker Town, a giant slide, and much more. Recommended for ages twelve and under.

9. We Rock the Spectrum — Northeast Philly

This kids' gym with an inclusive philosophy features equipment designed for kids with sensory processing disorders.  Kids of all ages and abilities will love the zip lines, crash pads, trampolines, and more in this welcoming environment.

10. Arnold's Family Fun Center — Oaks

11. Chatter Splatter — Norristown

Ball pits, play kitchens, and pretend gardens will keep kids entertained at this indoor playground all day. Best for ages one through seven years.

12. The Factory at Reach — Bridgeport

The 4,000 square-foot ninja area at this self-proclaimed ninja warrior facility is the perfect place to let off some steam. Kids' programming starts at age three.

13. iFLY — King of Prussia

Kids three and up can realize their soaring superhero dreams at this indoor skydiving facility.

14. King of Prussia Mall — King of Prussia

Need to run errands? Get tasks crossed off of your to-do list and take a break in one of two play areas. Located on the upper level of The Plaza, one space features foam shapes, tunnels, and slides. In addition, there’s a second play area on the lower level of The Court.

15. LEGOLAND Discovery Center — Plymouth Meeting

An interactive LEGO world, indoor playground, and even a theme park ride make this every kid's play paradise. Best for kids ages two and up.

16. The Little Pod — North Wales

Part indoor gym, part play space, part arcade, The Little Pod has a little of everything. Designed for kids ages seven and under, socks are required and tickets cannot be purchased online.

17. Lulu's Casita — Ardmore and West Chester

The perfect play cafe (with two different locations!) where you can enjoy your coffee in a comfy chair as the kids romp. Suggested for kids under seven.

18. Mr. B's — Souderton

Formerly Mr. B’s Coffeehouse, the renamed Mr. B's removed the coffee part of its operation to focus efforts on its free Playzone, designed for kids up to 54 inches tall, with giant slides, twisting tunnels, and caverns to climb.

19. Plymouth Meeting Mall — Plymouth Meeting

Take a break from shopping at the Under the Sea play area. This mall's play space is right around the corner from a carousel, Jump Star Bungee, LEGOLAND Discovery Center, and Dave and Buster's, making this spot a little niche of kid heaven.

This playground equipment showroom and store offers open play sessions for just $7. 

21. Romp n' Roll — Willow Grove 

From open gym to a slew of classes, this place is true to its name for kiddos under five, with plenty of places to crawl, climb, romp, and roll.

24. Bucks County Children's Museum — New Hope

Search for fossils, design a race track, or play pretend in the Bucks County-themed exhibits designed for kids ages one through seven.

25. Doylestown Rock Gym — Doylestown

With more than 12,000 feet of indoor climbing surfaces, kids of all ages and abilities will love scaling the rock walls. Kids of all ages are invited to climb with adult supervision.

26. Giggleberry Fair — Peddler’s Village

34. BounceU — Collegeville, Exton

Kids can jump the day away in the many bounce stadiums, but note there may be a time limit on tickets. Special events and toddler times are also offered. Suitable for kids ages two and up, though some areas have height limits.

35. Chuck E. Cheese's — Philadelphia, Springfield, and Warrington

Your classic indoor playground, Chuck E. Cheese is the old-school family favorite, with tunnels, video games, prizes, and of course pizza.

36. My Gym — Lionville/Exton, Springfield, Yardley 

In addition to classes like gymnastics and karate, you can also get a punch pass for some drop-in play. For six-week-olds through age ten. Free class trials are available.

37. Philadelphia Rock Gym — Oaks, Valley, Fishtown, East Falls, Wyncote

This is Philly's spot for climbers of all ages, from the smallest explorers all the way through adults looking for a unique workout. Check out their classes from kids' bouldering to summer camps.

38. Urban Air Adventure Park — Downingtown, Norristown, Willow Grove, Royersford, Springfield

From go-carts to virtual reality to indoor skydiving, kids can go wild at Urban Air.  Kids seven and under can enjoy a trampoline area just for them with a place for grown-ups to sit and watch.
