Things to Do for Connecticut Kids and Families May 7-8, 2011: Mother's Day, Festivals, Glass Harps and the Circus
Yeay! Friday is just around the corner and our best bets for the weekend are below. But remember, there are always additional options in the Mommy Poppins Events Calendar. Enjoy our separate Mother's Day events post that includes lots of great activities for you and your kids.
OUR LATEST VIDEOS
We've found some cool shows and festivals this weekend. Wander the streets of an 11th century springtime faire at the Robin Hood Springtime Festival in Guilford. The Ringling Brothers And Barnum & Bailey Circus is on stage in Hartford, Seussical the Musical is playing in Bridgeport and Goldie Locks is playing at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre.
At Yale there is a Mother's Day orchestra and symphony concert or you can check out the Glass Harp Performance in New Canaan where 50 glasses holding different amounts of water are played to create music.
There is a Mule and Donkey show in Guilford and who can resist cuddling baby chicks at Common Ground in New Haven? You can also see how queen bees and worker bees are introduced into their new hive box at the Ambler Farm in Wilton. Feel like a sleepover? Sleep with the seals, otters, sharks and more during a special overnight event at the Maritime Museum in Norwalk.
Whatever your fancy - have a fabulous weekend celebrating Moms/Mums/Mommies/Mamas everywhere.
