Thanksgiving Weekend 2021 in NYC: Macy's Balloons, Parade, Holiday Lights

Looking for the best things to do in New York City on Thanksgiving weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list for this Thanksgiving weekend.

We're feeling especially grateful that all the things we used to take for granted—the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Balloon Inflation, the Parade, and Santaland, just for starters—are all back, and sparklier than ever. Hanukkah begins Sunday, and there are menorah lighting celebrations on the Lower East Side and in Park Slope, plus a Family Fest at the Jewish Children's Museum.

The Holiday Express train exhibit is back at the New-York Historical Society. Nutcrackers are leaping across stages all around town, including the classic Balanchine version and the FREE bite-sized Suite at Brookfield Place. There's even a Dogecoin Scavenger Hunt afoot. And, if your kids are crazy about Marshall, Chase, Skye, and Zuma don't miss CAMP's new Paw Patrol Experience!

Our Event Calendar and Holiday Guide are positively lit with amazing holiday activities, and don't forget, you can even book some experiences directly on Mommy Poppins.
