The last few weeks of winter bring some neat activities, so check out all the family fun to be had in Jersey. Celebrate the end of maple sugaring season with the Sugar Maple Celebration at Duke Farms and the Maple Sugaring Fest at Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Or take a hike in the snow during a Family Nature Walk at Basking Ridge Environmental Education Center and build a Winter Gourd Birdhouse at Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary. And if the thought of the chilly outdoors has you shivering, we’ve got you covered! Take in a new musical retelling of a classic story and see If The Shoe Fits: A Cinderella Story, get zany at Liberty Hall’s Dr. Seuss Birthday Breakfast or channel your inner engineer during the Kids Create workshop at the Roebling Museum. Sugar Maple Celebration (Hillsborough, NJ)
Celebrate the Sugar Maple and all it brings to the table! Tap a tree at Duke Farms and enjoy the entire maple sugaring process, take a wildlife nature hike and identify maple tress along the way and best of all, taste all kinds of NJ maple syrup goodies in the special café!
If The Shoe Fits: A Cinderella Story (Budd Lake, NJ)
Pax Amicus Castle Theatre presents a new musical retelling of the beloved Cinderella story. Come see the adventures of Cinderella, the Prince, the Fairy Godmother, the Stepsisters and that not-so-loving Stepmother as Cinderella makes her way to the Ball and finds out just what happens "If the Shoe Fits."

Dr. Seuss Birthday Breakfast (Union, NJ)
Fans of Dr. Seuss can put on their Bar-ba-loot suits, hop on pop and make a stop at Liberty Hall Museum for a super good time at the Dr. Seuss Birthday Breakfast! Visitors will enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, make their very own Dr. Seuss hat and even take a picture with the zany and fun Cat in the Hat.
Winter Survival Shelters (Cranbury, NJ)
Children ages 6 & up are invited to the Plainsboro Preserve for this Family Nature Program. Learn about building basic shelter, along with other survival skills. Then try your hand at making a snow cave (weather permitting) and other forms of shelters.
Extreme Juggler (Wayne, NJ)
International Juggling Champion Greg Kennedy and his talented cast of circus artists, Theorem, bring the art of juggling to a new high at the Shea Center. The show includes aerial acrobatics, 5-person choreography, large structure pieces and an interactive lobby installation.
Gourd Birdhouses (Bernardsville, NJ)
Get ready for spring and make a gourd birdhouse at Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary. An art teacher will assist children with the artistic decoration of their birdhouse, followed by a quick lesson on the history of the use of gourds and how you can grow them. Hang the gourd in your backyard at home and a bluebird just might take up residence!
Kids Create II: Bridges and Machines (Roebling, NJ)
Celebrate National Engineers Week at the Roebling Museum. Kids can test their bridge-building skills and discover the science of bridges and other moving machines. They'll also make catapults and explore the science of sound engineering for film-making.

Maple Sugaring Fest (Summit, NJ)
Learn how early settlers tapped maple trees and turned the sap into delicious maple syrup at the beautiful Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Take part in a family scavenger hunt and see whether you can successfully complete the "Maple Syrup Challenge." Round out the day with a sampling of maple syrup and flapjacks!
Rubach Family Purim Carnival (Tenafly, NJ)
Families are invited to the Purim Carnival this Sunday at the JCC on the Palisades. Kids can dress in costume and enjoy train rides, inflatables, crafts, games and prizes. There will be character visits, cotton candy and of course, a costume parade.
Frozen Sing-A-Long (New Brunswick, NJ)
If your ears can handle just one more round of “Let it Go,” then duck out of the chilly weather and inside the State Theatre for a Frozen Sing-A-Long. Get dressed up in your Arendelle best and belt out your favorites during this free event.
Family Nature Walk (Basking Ridge, NJ)
If you’ve got a case of cabin fever, bundle up the troops in hats, coats and boots for a Family Nature Walk at the Basking Ridge Environmental Education Center. A Naturalist will lead your group along one of the many trails, pointing out winter flora and fauna.
