Looking for the best things to do in Chicago this weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list!

Chicago's fall-themed events are fading and giving way to holiday shows. Check out the opening weekends of Illumination at the Morton Arboretum, A Christmas Carol at the Goodman Theater, or Christmas Around the World: A Holiday of Lights at the Museum of Science and Industry. If you're not quite ready for the holidays, check out some shows about powerful girls and women: Annie opens this week at the Chicago Theatre, Wheaton kids are performing Moana, Jr., and little Swifties can celebrate Taylor at a Rock 'n Roll Playhouse show in Evanston.

If you don't want to cook for Thanksgiving, we have a great list of kid-friendly restaurants that are open. And now is the time to book your tickets to one of our favorite productions of The Nutcracker — many of these shows sell out as the date approaches.
