Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

Mon Jan 17, 2022
11:00am to 4:00pm ET
Free, with reservation
Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King and carry on his pursuit of justice with a Day of Service at the Gardner Museum. Excerpts of his speeches serve as inspiration for art kits that kids can take home to design their own advocacy or postcard to share a message of hope with someone.

In Calderwood Hall, visitors can watch Witness: Spirituals and the Classical Music Tradition, a four-part video series featuring Boston-based ensemble Castle of our Skins. The series explores the ways some Black American composers have found inspiration in the rich tradition of spirituals.
