Visiting one of our favorite escape rooms in Houston is great way for your family to brush up on your detective skills and bring out your inner Sherlock Holmes! In this thrilling indoor activity, guests are "locked in" a themed room full of clues and codes and have one hour to solve the room's mystery and find a way out. Or else.
With varying levels of difficulty, this activity is typically geared towards families with kids that are at least 10 years old; however, a few options have rooms or modes specifically for younger children, while others are for teens and adults only. Take your teenagers out for some mystery-solving family fun they'll love at award-winning The Escape Game Houston, where rooms range from a mysterious market to a time-traveling train. Each theme has its level of difficulty, and a helpful game guide is there to offer hints with no penalties. This is definitely one of the best escape rooms in Houston and worth every penny of the admission fee.

Escape Hunt - Midtown
This Midtown escape room is open for public play, which means walk-ins are welcome to join other groups. It's a great way to make new friends while working together to solve the puzzle. Private rooms can also be booked in advance at Escape Hunt. The room themes, which include everything from pirates to space exploration, are scare-free, but due to difficulty levels, it's not recommended for children under 10. Be sure to bring your credit card because Escape Hunt is a cash-free business.

Escape the Room Houston - Midtown and The Woodlands
Boasting fully immersive rooms and all-private play, the Escape Room Houston leads guests through 60 minutes of sleuthing fun in rooms featuring themes like an '80s recreation set-up, a Jurassic adventure, an underwater submarine, and more. These greater Houston escape rooms are open for kids of all ages but are most suited to teens ages 14 and up. While it might be a little pricier than the rest, it's worth the splurge.

Kids Mode challenges are specifically for youngsters from ages 7 to 14.
