Check Out Some of NYC's Coolest & Creepiest Halloween Displays

New Yorkers have a long tradition of mounting over-the-top holiday displays. But in recent years, we've noticed many of our neighbors going all out for Halloween, too, just substituting skeletons for Santa, spiderwebs for sparkles and severed limbs for lights.

Our bloggers scoured the streets to find some of the spookiest sights on stoops and sidewalks throughout the city. Click through our slide show... if you dare!

Although we found a slew of Halloween displays throughout the five boroughs, the ones above are our favorites. Some are playful and kid-friendly, while others are a bit more gruesome (check out those amputated hands on Strivers' Row!).

Unsurprisingly, many of these seasonal installations are located in top trick-or-treating neighborhoods, like Carnegie Hill, Harlem and Park Slope. Enjoy the fearsome photos and if you've got any awesome Halloween pics to share, post them to our Facebook page.
