6/30/17 - By Lisa Johnston

What would happen if you took every slip-n-slide in your neighborhood and attached them together?

Seeking to answer that age-old childhood question, Sack Lunch Productions is bringing its massive inflatable slip -n-slide here to the Hudson Valley for one day only.

We have everything you need to know about this crazy summer event. Looking for more ways to spend your summer? Consult our Event Calendar and follow us on Facebook.

Kids must be at least 5 in order to slide.

Held on Saturday, August 12, in Goshen in Orange County, Slide the City works just as you might imagine: Kids and adults are given the chance to careen across a whopping 1,000 feet of flat, wet vinyl. But rather than getting your stomach all ripped up — because we all remember that part, right? — inflatable tubes are provided for smoother sailing. Its organizers also promise that the structure has “more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers.”

Ticket prices currently range from $25.14 to $56.64 depending on the package you purchase. As the event nears, pricing will continue to rise. The cheapest tickets afford you three slides, a tube, a mouth guard and a drawstring bag. Don’t think three times will be enough? An All Day package is also available.

You’re advised to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your slide time. There will also be food trucks and music or a DJ there, intended to give the event a block-party feel.

Expect to see plenty of adults making a trip down the slide!
