A Peek Down the Rabbit Hole at Tilly’s Tea with Alice
For five weekends starting May 4, a new walk-through production will allow children to enter the pages of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Experience classic children’s literature in a new way at Tilly's Tea with Alice: A Curious Adventure Through Wonderland. Read on for our sneak peek so you can snag your tickets before they sell out.

Slide down the Rabbit Hole to enter Alice’s special world.
Situated on Tilly’s Farm in Brewster, which is owned and operated by Putnam County, Tilly's Tea with Alice allows visitors of all ages to journey with Alice as though a storybook friend. Along the way are costumed characters and 10 interactive stations: Slide down the rabbit hole, play a game of croquet, challenge the queen at chess (or off with your head!), and hop along the river after the Cheshire Cat.
Of course, no encounter with Alice would be complete without a tea party, so pull up a tree stump and enjoy some refreshments in a whimsically wooded setting. Expect photo ops and both audio and visual references from the literary classic at each scene.
The production was created by Dogwood Event Design, a group of artists and carpenters (and parents) behind, among other exhibitions, GLOW: A Jack-O’-Lantern Experience, which was held in several cities in 2016 and 2017. After hearing parents say, “No, don’t touch that,” the creators knew it was time for a “yes, touch” experience.
Thirteen dates are scheduled. On Mother’s Day, moms get to be queen for the day and will be pampered with sweet treats at the Mother's Day Mimosa Bar.
Alice-themed merchandise will be for sale, and a sit-down meal will be available for purchase at Tilly’s farm-to-table restaurant for those looking to supplement the light tea-party fare. While there, take a gander at the farm setting, which features livestock and educational classes as well.
The White Rabbit gazes upon the scene soon to be transformed into a veritable Wonderland.
An added perk: A portion of proceeds will benefit the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, which supports pediatric-cancer research and awareness.
Is it your (un-)birthday? Birthday parties are offered during regularly scheduled hours. A private room is available for food and cake, with optional add-ons including loot bags, Alice-themed cookies and catering.
Tilly's Tea with Alice runs Saturdays and Sundays, May 3-June 24 (except for Saturday, June 23). Additional dates are Friday, May 4; Friday, May 11; and Monday, May 28 (Memorial Day).
