If you're spending the summer out east, you'll be happy to hear that registration is open for Ross Summer, the much-loved Hamptons camp known for serving up immersive week-long specialized programs, for-credit academic courses, high-level athletic training, and even early childhood options. Built on the foundation of Ross School—an innovative PreK-12 day and boarding school located in East Hampton—Ross Summer offers three enriching summer programs for kids ages 2 to 18. Read on to find out which one is the best fit for your family.

Traditional Summer Camp

If you're looking for traditional day camp fun, Ross Summer Camp combines classic summer activities with one-of-a-kind opportunities for kids to explore new interests at its Bridgehampton location. Campers ages 7 to 12 can choose from a wide variety of "Immersions," which are week-long programs focused on art, performance, nature, filmmaking and animation, and invention. With an emphasis on wellness, activities like sports, yoga, tai chi, and mindfulness workshops are also part of the daily agenda.

For the littlest campers, ages 6 and under, there are "caregiver and me" and drop-off Early Childhood programs, which include music, creative dramatics, sports, yoga, Mandarin Chinese instruction, and gardening. And for the 13- to 15-year-old crowd, there's a CIT program that gives teens the chance to mentor young campers while learning meaningful mediation and problem-solving skills.

Sports Camp

Now, if you've got an athlete on your hands, Ross Sports Camp is the place to be when school lets out. Young sports-lovers ages 4 to 16 can spend the summer months training under expert coaches and athletic professionals on Ross School's 62-acre lush campus with its state-of-the-art facilities. The camp extends the renowned Ross School Tennis Academy's dedication and experience to a variety of sports, including tennis, basketball, soccer, and more. Campers can choose to focus on a single specialty or opt for the multisport program where they participate in a number of different sports and field games.

Academic Camp

If academic and social support is what you're looking for, Ross Summer Term is ready to help get students back on track—but with a level of flexibility that will still let them enjoy a full summer. Sensitive to the effects COVID-19 has had on students, the program is staffed with experienced teachers focused on helping kids further their academics minus the pressure of a traditional school day. Summer Term offers for-credit academic courses in ESOL, STEAM, Math, English, and Cultural History for middle and high school students, as well as tutoring services, a new Life Skills course, and enriching, activity-based programs for students ages 12 and up.

Lunch Plan

When it comes to mealtime, all Ross Summer campers get to enjoy individual farm-to-table box lunches that are freshly prepared by the Ross Café. All meals are made using regional, organic, seasonal, and sustainable purchasing and culinary practices—and even include fresh produce from the Ross Spiral Garden and local farms. These wholesome meals are designed to provide the energy and nutrition kids need to take on these immersive hands-on programs.

COVID-19 Safety

Ross School plans to maintain the same rigor and high safety standards for its summer programs that allowed it to keep students in-person and on campus for the entirety of the 20/21 academic year. At all Ross Summer programs, kids will spend the majority of their time outside and in open-air tents, with all participants masked and able to maintain at least 3 feet social distance at all times. Ross requires negative test results from every camper when they first come to camp or return from a break, and uses MyMedBot for daily screenings of campers and instructors. All counselors and instructors will also be fully vaccinated or tested weekly.
