After the blizzard forced most Long Island families indoors for several days this week, you're probably itching to get out of the house and shake off that cabin fever. We have you covered with live theater, science experiments, detective work and edible workshops.

Little Bo Peep - Port Jefferson. At Theatre Three, this is a live performance. Through Feb. 21. Cost: $10/ticket.

Bring It On – Oakdale. Live show at CM Performing Arts Center. Cost: $10/advance, $12/at the door.

Weekend Open Art Studio for Kids - East Hampton. At Guild Hall, budding young artists can work independently on a variety of interactive arts and crafts projects. Instructions and materials supplied. Cost: Free. Note: Check times for Saturday and Sunday.

Messy Afternoons at LICM – Garden City. At the Long Island Children’s Museum, all weekend long. Cost: Free with museum admission.

Explorer Family Backpacks – Uniondale. Pick up a backpack and explore the world through this Hofstra University gallery. Cost: Free.

CMEE Play! Art - No Two Are Alike – Bridgehampton. At the Children's Museum of the East End. Cost: $22 (includes museum admission)

Winter Wonderland Wander - Oyster Bay. Walk in fresh air at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary while you look for animal tracks, learn how wildlife survives during the winter months. Afterwards, warm up with s'mores and hot chocolate. Cost: $5/person.

Free Cooking and Boxing – Huntington. Live, eat and exercise healthier as a family at the UFC Gym Huntington.

The Case of the Missing Iguana – Rockville Centre. Visit The Center for Science Teaching & Learning to participate as a detective in this case. Cost: $14,

Sink or Swim? Buoyancy for Babies – Kids can learn about sinking and floating at South Fork Natural History Museum. Cost: $7/person.

Peter Pan - Bellmore. Live performance at The Showplace at Bellmore Movies. Also shown on Monday, Jan. 19. Runs through Jan. 31. Cost: $10/per person.

Super Bowl Sunday Workshop – Bellmore. At Chocolate Works, get ready to cheer on your favorite football team! Kids will decorate their own chocolate jersey, make a chocolate covered item on our conveyor belt, and have a super sweet time. Reservations required. Cost: $20.

A Taste of Tortilla - Garden City. At the Long Island Children's Museum, celebrate National Tortilla Day with cooking and activities. Cost: Museum admission + $3.

Seatuck Family Nature Club - Islip. These programs will be geared around the current season and include topics such as seasonal birds, tremendous trees and signs of the season. Cost: Free.

Jack Hanna's Into the Wild - Westbury. Live show with animals in the New York Community Bank Theatre's half round. Cost: $32-105/ticket.

Flubbermania! The Secrets of Polymer Chemistry - Bridgehampton. At the South Fork Natural History Museum, you can make Flubber. It’s gooey, made from common household ingredients, and teaches us about polymers.

Family Sundays at the Museum - Roslyn. Each Sunday Nassau County Museum of Art offers a 1pm docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition and supervised art activities for the whole family beginning at 1:30pm. Cost: Free with museum admission.

Lego Club - Bridgehampton. Enjoy two hours of Lego fun every Sunday at the Children's Museum of the East End. Cost: $10/admission.

Sunday Kids Club - East Hampton. Drop off kids for a 9am-12pm kids camp at Hampton Kids. Cost: $30-40.
