Ring the Alarm! The Houston Fire Museum is Finally Reopening!
Firefighting enthusiasts of all ages will be happy to know that the Houston Fire Museum is finally celebrating its grand reopening on October 12th, 2024 after a long four years of closure. Built in 1899, Historic Station No. 7 was the first fire station built and paid for by the City of Houston, and is the oldest Houston fire station still standing.
The recent $5.7M building preservation project restored the station to its original beauty with added modern conveniences, including an all-new children's playroom. New features include a designated private room for events, including kid's birthday parties, and an outdoor courtyard.
Hours after October 12th will be Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. Admission will not be charged until early 2025 when all the exhibits are slated to be moved back to the museum. Once fully open, admission will be $8 for adults and $5 for children.
