Cut Your Own Christmas Tree Farms in Litchfield County
If you are looking for a fresh cut pine tree Christmas outing that the kids won't forget, one of the following farms in Litchfield County is sure to fit the bill. Most of these farms have been run by the same families for generations and include perks such as a free cup of hot cocoa, a holiday decorations store and maybe even a tractor ride. Some may or may not take credit cards so be sure to have cash on hand. Weekenders will be thrilled with the low prices, typically $45 per tree. Angevine Farm
The Christmas Barn is open the weekend before Thanksgiving until Christmas. The Christmas Barn has a large selection of unusual ornaments, garland, tree stands and gifts. Also offered are fresh made wreaths, swags. Check their site for visits from Santa.

Averill Farm has been operated continuously by the Averill's since it was purchased in 1746 from the holdings of Chief Waramaug. Busy Acres Tree Farm
Busy Acres Tree Farm has been growing Christmas trees since 1979. The farm now has 30+ acres of beautiful choose and cut Christmas trees. Most of their trees are 6 ft. to 12 ft. There are even a few trees over 12 ft. All for the same low price: $45. They also have fresh cut trees from 4ft. to 8ft. for those who are unable to cut their own. Wreaths and swags are made daily at the farm.They provide saws for you to use and twine for securing the tree to your vehicle. Trees can also be wrapped in netting.They provide free tree carts to make transporting your tree to your vehicle that much easier. Opens the day after Thanksgiving. Windswept Tree Farm
This is a small choose and cut farm that offers free hot cider and hot cocoa as well as a small gift shop with wreaths and swags (locally made). Handmade ornaments, VT maple syrup and local honey jars are also available. Christmas music plays all day at the farm while you search for your perfect tree. All trees are $49 and they provide a tree baler as well as twine and assistance to tie your tree to the car. For $20, tree delivery available to New Milford and Sherman residents.
