Horseback Riding Equestrian Summer Camps in Litchfield County

What little girl doesn't fantasize about one day owning her own pony? Let us not forget little boys dreaming about riding a horse like the cowboys and Native Americans did. This summer you can give your child, sometimes as young as age three, a week long experience riding, taking care of and enjoying everything about horses. We've rounded up some great stables that offer summer camps in Litchfield County. We can't think of a more beautiful environment to enjoy spending time with horses this summer.

Fox Crossing Equestrian, Morris
This program is a great way to expose your child to the wonderful world of horses. Each day campers will enjoy an English riding lesson and learn aspects of horse husbandry, including grooming, tacking and parts of the horse. Kids will play learning games and enjoy arts and crafts.

Daffodil Hill Farm, Woodbury
Summer and vacation programs are offered that include riding, arts, crafts, and hands on experiences with horses and around the barn. Their Horsemanship Program is available year round on the weekends to older children that want to learn how to groom, bathe, clip, and pull the manes of horses, along with setting jump courses and barn organization. Summer/Vacation session includes one ride per day plus arts & crafts.

Riders take great care of their horses while learning many aspects of horse care and stable management. Riders are placed in small groups of four or less to ensure they receive individual attention.
