mini golf and putt-putt in boston

Eagle, birdie, bogey, par…you don't need a clue what those terms mean to excel in our favorite form of golf: putt-putt. Miniature golf is a great summer outing for families because it's entertaining for a variety of ages, and a chance to spend time outdoors—without the time commitment, training, or investment that comes with "real" golf. We have several special mini golf spots not far from Boston where you and the kids can perfect your putts, dodge elaborate obstacles, and grab a treat; read up to see where your next round should be.

Kimball Farm - Westford
Kimball’s has been a family favorite for years, and summer wouldn’t be complete without at least one family outing to the farm for a round of mini-golf. The “adventure course” has cascading waterfalls, rope bridges, caverns, and beautiful landscaping. Kimball's also has its own ice cream, a country store, driving range, pitch & putt, batting cages, an outdoor grill and seafood shack, and bumper boats.
Hours: 10am-10pm (in season)
Cost: Adults, $12.50; Children under 12, $9.50

Castle Creek Adventure Land - Salem
The 18-hole miniature golf course is well landscaped, with cascading waterfalls, water fountains, a cave, a castle, and bridges. The course is fully lit at night. Families can also enjoy Richardson's ice cream, fill up at the snack bar, ride the go-karts, hit a bucket of balls on the driving range, and play in the arcade. For $20, visitors can take a go-kart ride, play a round of mini-golf and enjoy an ice cream.
Hours 9am-10pm (in season)
Cost: Adults $10; Seniors & children under 12, $9

Golf on the Village Green - Natick
Minutemen, Redcoats, the State House, cases of tea, Bunker Hill—a round of golf at Golf on the Village Green takes place amid miniature historical buildings, life-size statues, and other colonial replicas that make this a unique (and dare we say, educational) miniature golf experience. (Note: There's no food available for purchase on the premises, but a Starbucks next door and multiple ice cream shops in downtown Wellesley just a few miles away.)
Hours: Mon-Thu, Sun 10am-10pm; Fri-Sat 10am-11pm (in season)
Cost: Adults, $8; Children under 8, $6

Mulligan’s Miniature Golf - Sterling
Each hole of the 18-hole course is named for a woodland animal—our kids had fun choosing their favorite as they played through. And older kids will enjoy Moonlight Madness Golf-in-the-Dark, when the course lights go off, the glow-in-the-dark golf balls come out, and madness ensues! Glowing tee-box markers and glowing holes let you know just where to aim your glowing ball.
Hours: 10am–10pm (in season)
Cost: Adults (13+) $10; Seniors & Youth (4-12) $8

Hago Harrington’s Miniature Golf - Stoneham
