The Scoop on Fundaes, a Cool New Arcade in Central New Jersey
Families looking for indoor fun have a sweet new option in Central NJ: Fundaes Arcade, a 7,000-square-foot arcade and ice cream parlor, held its grand opening in Chesterfield in late December.
In addition to a slew of favorite arcade games and newer VR options, the facility will also tempt anyone with a sweet tooth with its candy wall and big ice cream counter.

Fundaes Arcade features dozens of unique, interactive arcade games. Shoot hoops, try virtual bowling, toss rings, go fishing, or roll the gigantic Monopoly dice. Many games will earn tickets you can trade in for really nice prizes. There are also lots of ride-on racing games, and some of them have virtual reality goggles to amp up the experience. The target age group for most games is about 3-12, but I also saw a couple of small rides for younger children.
Love claw games? Fundaes has a bunch with some great prizes as well as a couple of play-til-you-win machines. The arcade, racing, and claw games average 2-4 credits per play, which equates to about $1-$2 per game on a play card. We split a $50 card among my three kids, and they were happily entertained for an hour.

Take a break from the arcade games for a decadent dessert.
When you're ready to take a break, Fundaes sweetens the deal with a large candy wall and a great ice cream counter. There were about 14 different hard ice cream flavors the day we visited, plus some soft serve and Dole soft serve—which is so hard to find! The toppings selection is pretty impressive. Choose from about 40 different delectable options like cheesecake pieces, brownie bites, and chocolate crunch. Make your own combination or pick from the specialty sundaes menu. If that weren't enough options, you can also satisfy your sweet tooth with lava cake sundaes, banana splits, floats, and shakes. Or, skip the ice cream altogether and try the churros, hot pretzels, or ices.

Fundaes has games the whole family can play together.
I saw some nice-sized party rooms for birthday parties. Packages start at $275 for 10 guests with unlimited access to the basic games for 45 minutes. Some bigger packages include the virtual reality games and crane plays. Whichever package you choose, the guest of honor will go home with a $25 game card and 300 iTickets.
Fundaes is a great size for young visitors and groups; it's not super big so you'll be able to keep everyone in sight.
