With Halloween falling on a Saturday, chances are your weekend plans include a day of Holiday festivities and a day of relaxation on Sunday. Or maybe you're looking for ways to stay out of the house and away from all the Halloween candy on Sunday. Whether you're looking for ways to get the most out of Halloween this weekend, or ways to get moving on from it, we've rounded up some of the best on and off the beaten path activities for you on Long Island this weekend:

OUR LATEST VIDEOS

The Twilight Pumpkin Spectacular
Friday, October 30: 6pm-9:30pm
Nassau County Museum of Art
One Museum Drive, Roslyn Harbor

We posted about this great event in our Halloween Event post, but it is so great it is worth of more screen time. Head to the Nassau County Museum of art and take a stroll across the grounds, which have been decorated with hundreds of lit up jack-o-lanterns. There is spooky music, story telling and great sound effects. Wear your costume! As of Thursday, there were still tickets available, but you must buy in advance. For more information call: 516-484-9337 or visit their website.

Dia de Los Muertos
Sunday, November 1, 1pm-3pm
Long Island Children's Museum
11 Davis Avenue, Garden City

This Latin American Holiday is a great reason to head to the LICM and celebrate. Literally translated, the "day of the dead" celebrates the lives of those who have past with food and fun. The Children's Museum is also offering cultural exhibitions and stories. With museum admission, the event is FREE. For more information, visit the museum's website by clicking here

Sunday Science-The Human Body

Long Island Science Center
11 West Main Street
Riverhead

The Science Center in Riverhead is a terrific place to visit. Many of the programs and activities are self-directed, making it a perfect spot for a family outing. You can move at your own pace, and parents can be the teachers. This weekend, visit the LISC for a program on the workings of the human body-just time after all those pictures of skeletons everyone's been looking at. Admission is just $5 per child and $2 per adult. Visit the website for directions or more information.

Puppy Match and Parade
Sunday, November 1, 11am-3pm
Doggie K9 Academy
41 Saxon Ave, Bay Shore

This weekend you can check out some of Long Island's cutest Bulldog puppies strut their stuff in support of Doggie University. The dogs will compete in agility, show and even best costume. You can also see demonstrations in handling and learn about rescuing these cute puppies. For more information, click here. The $8 per adult/$4 per child fee includes lunch!
