Foxwood's: Casino Fun for Kids!

You might not think of a casino as a family friendly destination, but Foxwoods, near Hartford, has some surprisingly fun—and wholesome—options for kids. From Ice skating on their brand new outdoor rink, an enormous arcade with current and vintage games and a museum dedicate to Connecticut's native Americans, a trip to Foxwoods has a lot to offer.
OUR LATEST VIDEOS
From now through April you can take the kids ice skating at Foxwoods Casino's new outdoor rink. It's big enough for 200 people so there should be plenty of room for the family to glide and spin on the ice. Children can rent skates for $2, adults $5.
When it's time for a break, grab lunch at one of the resort's numerous family friendly dining spots: Fuddruckers, California Pizza Kitchen and Hard Rock Cafe to name a few. Choices, it's all about the choices.
After lunch you can head the family over to the Tree House Arcade where you can play over a 100 of the best video and redemption games on the market. $1 gets you 4 tokens. For the best value, $100 you will get you 500 tokens plus 100 free bonus tokens. That's a lot of video gaming, but if you have a large group you'll go through that sooner than you think. For those looking for old school games pre-Wii, there are pinball and classic arcade games. Space Invaders, anyone?
And after that, if you still are itching to do something new and different head on over to the world's largest Native American Museum, Mashantucket Pequot Museum in Mashantucket, where you and the kids can walk into a replica16th-century Indian village and see life-size figures living life as they did back then. The museum is closed on Sundays however - so plan ahead.

As a kid, she envisioned her four gorgeous children running through the idyllic countryside while she created pottery in her studio. Well, fast forward 30 years and there is no pottery studio and only two kids but she has the idyllic countryside part down. After studying business and art, and then working in corporate marketing, graphic design as well as event planning and development, Mary Beth is now happily blogging.
