VALE(mini)GOLF is located right in front of the lobby in Vale Plaza, which is perfectly shaded by the rise of the hotel. My family and I were very thankful for the shade when we went to check out the course on a recent weekend. The afternoon was hot and sunny but it was cool and breezy on the course.

Despite its proximity to the hotel, play is open to hotel guests and non-guests alike on afternoons and evenings from Wednesday through Sunday.

Mini golf at The William Vale Mister Dipps
When you're done with your round, hit up the Mister Dips retro Airstream food truck for diner-inspired eats and treats.

The course is ideal for families because each hole is relatively easy for kids but challenging enough to keep it fun for the grown-ups. My 6 year old was able to navigate most of the obstacles himself. After finishing the round, we enjoyed a sweet treat from Mister Dips, located in Vale Park, an elevated green space adjacent to the hotel with stunning views of Manhattan.

The mural at Vale(mini)Golf calls attention to mental health issues, and The William Vale is donating a portion of each player's fee to the National Alliance on Mental Illness' local chapter.

When you hit the course, you'll notice a striking, colorful mural entitled You Are Not Alone, alongside one side of the course. The artwork, by Brooklyn-based artist Jason Naylor, is part of a national public art project, which inspires artists to create work related to mental health issues. The William Vale donates $1 from each player's mini-golf admission to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Vale Park is also a great place to hang out on a summer weekend or evening, and there are several restaurant options in and near the hotel catering to families. Mister Dips not only serves the decadent ice cream cones we enjoyed but burgers and fries as well.
