Things to Do for Kids and Families on Long Island January 7 and 8: Disney on Ice and Feasts for Beasts Opening Weekend

The holidays are over, the kids are back to school…everything is back to normal. Except now they're bored, suffering from postholiday letdown. How can you keep them entertained? We've got you covered. Disney on Ice is in town, the Long Island Children's Museum is opening a new exhibit and is presenting a fun performance in its theater, plus there are a couple of children's productions being put on around the Island.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy have their bags all packed for a journey that will transport audiences straight from their seats into the magical worlds of best friends Lilo and Stitch as they hula in Hawaii, Simba and Nala as they explore the African Pride Lands, Ariel and Sebastian as they experience an aquatic adventure in their undersea kingdom, and Peter Pan and Tinker Bell as they soar through the starry skies.

Visit the LICM for the opening weekend of its newest permanent exhibit "Feasts for Beasts." Discover the amazing ways animals find and eat their food, and participate in fun themed activities.

The museum offers a docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition;  supervised art activities for the whole family begin at 1:30 pm. Special family guides of the main exhibition are available in the galleries.
