Weekday Event Picks for LA Kids: Eggs, LEGOS, & Bubblefest March 30-April 3

3/29/15 - By Jacqueline Stansbury

While this LEGO lover is still reeling from The Academy’s decision not to include The LEGO Movie in its list of nominees for best picture, no harm no foul; a sequel is in the works, and this week you can see the original again (or for the first time if somehow your family missed it) at the Santa Monica Public Library.

Passover starts this week, and Easter hits its stride. Plus right in the middle we have April Fools' Day—care to play a prank or two on your kids? For those on spring break, it's a great time to head to the Discovery Cube in Orange County for Bubblefest, or check out the new Discovery Cube in the Valley while its introductory discount price is still in effect.

OUR LATEST VIDEOS

1. Bubblefest – Monday
With or without bubbles this is a great museum, but who knew that there was such a thing as an International Bubble Artist? Deni Yang explains the science of this otherwise ordinary preschool pastime with Vegas style showmanship in what has become a Discovery Cube spring break institution.

2. Art the Art Hunter – Tuesday
Puppeteer Richard Woloski presents this free show at the Topanga Library. Is Copy Cat stealing great works of art from the museum and replacing them with fakes? Kids get to help solve the crime and probably learn a little bit about art, too.

See all Tuesday events.

3. Easter Eggstravaganza at the Lakes – Wednesday
Photo ops with the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, and of course egg hunts galore take over the Thousand Oaks indoor-outdoor mall. BYOB (Bring Your Own Baskets)

See all Wednesday events.

4. Easter on the Farm – Thursday
With or without a holiday theme, a trip to Underwood Family Farm in Moorpark is always a great outing with the kids. In honor of Easter, kids can be photographed with the Easter Bunny at his house, and are all sorts of games, activities, and, of course, hunts.

See all Thursday events.

5. The LEGO Movie – Friday
Worth paying for, but this screening is free (popcorn included) in the children’s activity room of the Santa Monica Public library. An awesome event… literally.
