With the first snowfall of the season, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Keep the festive spirit going this weekend with all of the holiday events happening throughout the county. And in keeping with that holiday spirit, we'd like to thank our readers with our annual Biggest Holiday Giveaway! This weekend, take the family to Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown for face painting, crafts, music and a children’s raffle at the Local Artisan Holiday Craft Fair while you get some of you Christmas shopping done. Holiday crafts and decorations are a fun way to keep the little ones busy at Cranberry Lake Preserve, The Field Library and the Trailside Nature MuseumMuscoot Farm is celebrating the holidays with Christmas Evening on the Farm on Saturday and Christmas on the Farm on Sunday.

Visit St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site in Mount Vernon for holiday music featuring harp, French horn and voice, with carols. Enjoy Breakfast with Santa in Ossining or have the little ones try their hand at yoga at the Katonah Museum of Art. Scarsdale Public Library is hosting yoga for children with special needs.

The Westchester County Center is hosting The Toy and Train Show on Sunday for all the train buffs out there. If your little ones are more into the arts, Katonah Art Center’s instructors will be on hand on Sunday for tours, demonstrations, and on-site instruction for their Open House and Free Arts Day.

Looking to see a show this weekend? Holiday Spectacular is running all weekend at Irvington Town Hall and you can see Cinderella Ballet at the Tarrytown Music Hall on Sunday.

Christmas on the FarmKatonah
All decked out for the holidays, Muscoot’s Main House comes alive with the aroma of cookies baking, the sounds of carols, stories in the decorated barnyard on Saturday and a puppet show on Sunday. FREE.

Holiday Spectacular Irvington
Sleepy Hollow Performing Artists presents an evening of entertainment and mayhem at the Irvington Town Hall. The performance includes original works: Sleepy Hollow’s Nightmare Before X Mas and a contemporary hip hop Nutcracker titled “Nutcracker Now”. $18-$20.

Come meet and eat breakfast with Santa at the Joseph Caputo Community Center. Get a small gift and turn in your wish list to the Jolly Elf from the North Pole. Annie will be on hand to entertain and delight the youngsters. FREE.

Holiday Music and the Holiday of Christmas Mount Vernon
Visit St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site for a 2pm performance of holiday music, featuring harp, French horn and voice, with carols. FREE.

Holiday Crafts for Kids White Plains
Kids can have fun making holiday crafts for their loved ones at Cranberry Lake Preserve. $7.

Holiday Decorating from Nature Cross River
Create seasonal decorations from natural materials at the Trailside Nature Museum. Free.

Children can drop in to create a special craft for the holidays at The Field Library. FREE.

Move It Katonah
Stretch your body and your imagination as you learn yoga poses and listen to stories about kids who move in unusual ways. Make a movable puppet. FREE.

Yoga for moving kids (special needs) features traditional yoga poses. Practices have been modified into a playful, non-judgmental format for fun and relaxation. FREE.

Toy and Train ShowWhite Plains

We mentioned this show in our post about where to see and celebrate trains in Westchester. This is the largest toy and train show in the northeast featuring more than 350 vendors tables. New and antique toys and trains, all gauges, train parts, layouts, appraisals, die cast, automobiles, books, test tracks, toy soldiers, match box, Star Wars, Thomas and Friends, games and toys for all ages. $11; Free for children 12 and under.

Holidayfest Crestwood
Celebrate Crestwood’s Holidayfest with holiday music, live reindeer, and Santa. FREE.

Open House & Free Arts Day Katonah
Enjoy all kinds of activities including drawing, painting, pottery, collage, sculpture, animation, cartooning, crafts, fashion design, group yoga, Zumba, music and more at the Katonah Museum of Art. Refreshments will be served. FREE.

Historic Holiday Tours Scarsdale
Tour historic Wayside Cottage with colonial guides and decorations. There will be entertainment and food to put you in the holiday spirit. FREE.

Cinderella BalletTarrytown
The Tarrytown Music Hall puts on the classic fairytale filled with romance and comedy, mesmerizing dance, and hilarious fun for the entire family. Beautiful and grand, funny and touching. Cinderella has been called the perfect ballet experience for newcomers, young audiences and seasoned aficionados. $25.

Pre-Holiday Scavenger Hunt Rye
The Marshlands Conservancy is hosting a holiday scavenger hunt and stick around for refreshments. FREE.

BEYOND WESTCHESTER

On Friday evening, head to Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut for their Festival of Lights. Paths will be illuminated by hundreds of luminaria as guests enjoy seasonal entertainment, face painters, story tellers, hot chocolate and even a visit from Santa. Enjoy FREE admission with a non-perishable food item to benefit the United Way's Gemma Moran Food Center.

In Morristown, NJ, this is the last weekend to check out the 22nd Annual Gingerbread Wonderland at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum. Check out ice carvings by Sculpted Ice Works on Saturday and enjoy the Hickory Tree Chorus on Sunday while taking in the sights of over 200 edible structures.
