Long Island Kids' Activities October 19 & 20: Rock Hall Country Fair, Oyster Festival, Sayville Fall Festival

This weekend, head to the Five Towns and enjoy a country fair at the Rock Hall Museum. Now in its 30th year, The Oyster Festival, which is one of the largest waterfront festivals, hits the streets of Downtown Oyster Bay. For those in Suffolk County, head to Downtown Sayville for a festival, which celebrates the fall harvest through a pumpkin contest and an apple pie bake off. In the mood for some indoor fun? Budding cinefiles of all ages enjoy a 75 minute shorts program at the Long Beach Hotel. Icelandic pop singer Elska hits the stage for two performances at the Long Island Children's Museum. Also on tap: a Nocturnal Animals & Scavenger Hunt at the Sands Point Preserve. As always, check our events calendar every day for fun activities for the family.

Rock Hall Country Fair - Lawrence
This annual fair at the Rock Hall Museum boasts a harvest market, farm animals, food, craft area, pumpkin patch, colonial historians, and pony rides.

The Oyster Festival - Oyster Bay
Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park is the place to be for all things oyster. Enjoy live entertainment, Tall Ships, artisans, pirate shows, midway rides, and the oyster eating and shucking contest. Don't forget to stop by the food court for some delicious seafood.

Stoked Fest - Long Beach
Head over to the South Shore and make a stop at the Long Beach Hotel. This film festival for kids supports the revitalization of Long Beach in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Featuring a 75 minute shorts program, arts and crafts, and a reception.

Elska - Garden City
Icelandic pop singer Elska hits the stage with her cast of quirky characters at the Long Island Children's Museum. This musical performance incorporates theater and storytelling.

Sayville Chamber Of Commerce Fall Festival - Sayville
Head over to Downtown Sayville for this festival, which features food, vendors, petting zoo, pre-carved pumpkin contest, pie bake off, live entertainment, and kiddie rides.

Fall Fair & Alumni Day - Garden City
The Waldorf School of Garden City hosts this event, which features crafts, puppet shows, vendors, jump rope making, carnival games, food, raffles, soccer games, and musical performances.

Princess Tea Party - Ronkonkoma
Be a princess for the day at Ballet Long Island. Come dressed in costume and see Cinderella and Snow White dance on stage. After the show, enjoy a photo op with the princesses, and head into the party room for snacks and beverages.
