Cartoon Network Hotel Opens for 2020 in Lancaster

1/11/20 - By Elaine Paoloni Quilici

Finding hotels in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, just got a bit easier for families. The Cartoon Network Hotel finally had its Pennsylvania premiere on January 10, 2020, so it's ready for all those upcoming school vacations and summer weekend getaways.

The new Lancaster hotel boasts family-friendly suites, some with bunk beds, restaurants, and of course, swimming pools for family downtime. Though delayed from its plans to open in summer 2019, the new Amish country hotel seems to have delivered on its promise to recreate a fun-filled network experience for lodgers.

Every guest room is themed to one of six awesome Cartoon Network shows.

From bedding to wall art, families can relax in one of the 159 character-themed guest rooms. Rooms are tied to one of six Cartoon Network shows: The Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time, Ben 10, Powerpuff Girls, Steven Universe, and We Bare Bears. The hotel certainly seems to have families in mind, with a number of rooms offering bunk beds that come with their own TVs and reading lights. For an additional fee, customize your stay and staff will add some extra theme-based touches. True aficionados can book one of four Dream Suites that offer Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Ben 10 themes.

A heated indoor pool is available year-round, with a hot tub and kiddie pool. If you can get them out of the pool, your next challenge will be leaving the hotel's arcade, which is open 24/7. The Ben-10-inspired Omnicade has favorites such as skee-ball and air hockey, plus two virtual reality pods. Perhaps you can pry them away by heading to the Toon Room, where they can Powerpuff themselves, play a floor tile game, and have fun with the Summer Camp Island-themed virtual tag wall. And, of course, there's a gift shop so kids (and adults) can take home a piece of the fun.

Enter the Adventure Time 'Land of P’Oool and for family swimming time.

In warmer months, the fun is extended outdoors with a zero-entry pool, and outdoor splash zone that includes a Jake the Dog waterslide, hot tub, and Powerpuff Girls splash pad. Other seasonal entertainment includes lawn games, fire pits to roast s'mores, a 20-foot movie screen that plays cartoons—sometimes brand-new episodes—in the evenings, and the Land of P'Oool Concession Stand. There's plenty of fun to engage both kids and adults.

Feeling hungry? Cartoon Kitchen serves up dishes you might recognize from some of your favorite shows, including Jake's ultimate cheesy nachos, Fox's chicken pot pie, and desserts by Lady Rainicorn. While waiting for food, diners can watch cartoon chefs in action on the wall. Aspiring mini chefs can sign up for daily classes in the Kids' Kitchen, where they can make items such as fruit pizza, snack sushi, and bear toast.

Serving up coffee, sandwiches, and snacks, the hotel's café is conveniently located off the main lobby.

For something lighter, head to Bearista Cafe. Refuel with a sandwich or snack, and wash it down with a coffee, adult drink, or specialty drink for all ages. This pit stop is also ideal to take care of any lingering work in the cafe's small business center.

Combine a trip to the Cartoon Network Hotel with a visit to Lancaster's Dutch Wonderland amusement park, which is just down the road. The hotel offers guests admission discounts.
