Looking for the best things to do in Houston this MLK weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list for this weekend.

The first long weekend of the year is here, with Monday being a day to honor the life of legendary civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Children's Museum of Houston is holding a Martin Luther King Day Celebration, and Houston's Original MLK Jr. Parade Downtown is happening on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Chevron Houston Marathon also takes place this weekend, and there are several family-friendly events perfect for celebrating the race, including the We Are Houston Run Fest at Discovery Green. The weather forecast for Monday is shaping up to be super chilly, so you might want to consult our list of Free Indoor Things To Do in Houston as well.
