Immersive Slime Experience Sloomoo Institute Now Open in Houston
Sloomoo, billed as the “World’s #1 Slime Experience,” recently opened a new location in Houston–and you'll want to check it out if you have a kid that likes slime. The Marq-E Entertainment Center opening follows popular Sloomoo locations in New York, Atlanta, and Chicago.
We recently had a chance to visit, and it was a big hit with our kids. We all loved playing with different textures of slime, and the kids enjoyed making personalized slime to bring home.
Read on to get the scoop on this awesome new experience. Check out our Indoor Fun Guide for Houston Kids to find more fun places to play indoors.

What to Expect at Sloomoo Institute Houston
There are plenty of photo-ops throughout Sloomoo.
When you enter Sloomoo Institute Houston, you are greeted by a colorful world of slime and a gift shop full of ooey-gooey stuff! After a brief video of slime etiquette, you make your slime name (replacing the vowels with “oo”). You are led into a colorful warehouse that's sectioned off into different sensory-slime experiences. As you can imagine, there are many Instagram-worthy photo opportunities throughout.
There are pedestals with bins of slime featuring different textures, scents, and colors. You are encouraged to play with and experience the slime with all your senses. There is even a wall to smear slime, which the kids particularly enjoyed.
Get slimed at Sloomoo Falls.
You can visit Lake Sloomoo, kick off your shoes, and traverse across 350 gallons of slime. And if you want to add to your experience, you can stand under Sloomoo Falls, which pours slime all over willing participants, who can don provided ponchos.
Customize some slime to take home.
My kids' favorite part, though, was the DIY Slime bar, where they could choose from a variety of slime textures–thick, glossy, snow fizz, etc.–and customize them with colors, scents, and charms. Sloomoo provided a container for the slime creation so the kids could take it home to enjoy.
Sloomoo advised that all slime was washable and could be removed from clothing using white vinegar and water. Take it from me, whose youngest child stuck half his upper body into a vat of slime–it does wash out pretty easily from clothing!
