Summer break is the perfect opportunity for baseball-loving kids in Houston to learn new skills and develop their gameplay. At these baseball camps, not only will kids learn more about the game and how to play, but they'll get the opportunity to connect with other kids in the sport. For kids who play on a baseball team during the school year, summer camp provides an entirely new set of players to interact with and coaches to learn from. Whether your kid is headed for the big leagues, just starting out, or playing just for the fun of it, these baseball summer camps are perfect for honing in on their love of the game.

Hunter Pence Baseball Academy Summer Camp - Northwest Houston
Ages: 6-13
This summer baseball camp provides kids the opportunity to learn the mechanics of the sport directly from the pros. Campers will run through circuit training and agility drills, engage in tee and machine work, have live at-bats, live game-play, conditioning, and more. Although the camp is baseball-driven, campers will also have the opportunity to play games of dodge ball, ping-pong, and basketball, as well as play baseball trivia games. Camp sessions run Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., with five different sessions available in June and July. Multi-week discounts are available. Registration is limited to 30 campers per session. Daily lunch is provided, and before and aftercare is available for an additional fee. 

University of Houston Cougar Baseball Camps - UH Main Campus
Ages: 6-14
Designed to enhance the skills of players at every level, the University of Houston Cougar baseball camps offer kids the opportunity to learn from collegiate players and coaches in a fun and supportive environment. Players will be divided by age and ability to work on hitting, fielding, and catching technique, followed by the opportunity to showcase these skills in daily live gameplay. Campers should bring their own glove, helmet, bat, cleats, athletic shoes, and baseball hat labeled with their name. Each four-day camp session throughout June, July, and August offers half-day (9 a.m.-Noon) and full-day (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) options. Campers can purchase lunch on-site or bring their own from home. In case of inclement weather, this camp provides an indoor space for camp to continue regardless of weather conditions. 

Rice Baseball Camp - Rice University
Ages: 7-13
Hosted by Rice University baseball coaches, players, alumni, and local veteran high school coaches, this baseball camp gives kids a chance to hone in on their skills. In addition to practicing hitting, pitching, catching, and base running technique players will have an opportunity to participate in skill competition and live gameplay. Low coach to camper ratios insures that each child receives individual instruction. Each camp session runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Thursday, with multiple sessions held in June and July. Camps will run rain or shine, utilizing the indoor play facilities if needed. Campers should bring their own baseball cap, gloves, bat, and athletic shoes, but each camper will receive a camp t-shirt.

The Hitting Academy Houston - Southwest Houston
Ages: 7-12
This baseball summer camp provides comprehensive instruction at The Hitting Academy Houston's world-class facility. Campers will focus on developing hitting, fielding, throwing, pitching, and base running skills with seasoned coaches, as well as engage in live game play with other campers. Each four-day camp session runs from 9 a.m.-noon, with a limit of 30 campers per session. Price discounts are available for Hitting Academy members and campers who sign up to participate in multiple weeks of camp. Multiple camp sessions are available in July and August. 

George Springer Baseball Pro Camp - Clear Lake
Ages: Entering grades 1-8
Kids are grouped by age and ability to rotate through skills stations and play games while practicing their baseball technique. The camp offers a 10-to-1 camper to coach ratio, and is staffed by the area's top collegiate and high school coaches. Each camper will receive a t-shirt, team photo with Springer, and a souvenir autograph. This one-day camp is a can't-miss opportunity for Houston kids to learn from one of the game's top athletes. 

Nike Baseball Camp at Scrapyard Sports - Conroe
Ages: 7-12
Nike Baseball Camp offers players the opportunity to engage in an intensive learning experience that will take their game play to the next level. With professional instruction and low camper to staff ratios, kids can receive plenty of hands-on instruction and skill development. Players should bring their own equipment including bats, gloves, and helmets. Each five-day session boasts a full day of camp from 8:45 a.m.-3 p.m. with lunch provided. Two camp sessions are available in late July at the Scrapyard Sports complex, an indoor/outdoor baseball and softball facility in Conroe. 

D-BAT Summer Camps - Multiple Locations
Ages: 5-13
D-BAT training facilities throughout Houston offer multiple summer camp options for baseball players. Players looking to improve on all aspects of the game of baseball can learn from skilled coaches and receive individual instruction. Camps are offered daily at most locations from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and campers have the option to sign up for as many or as few days of camp per week as they wish. Camps are offered throughout June, July, and August. Campers should bring their own equipment, but are not allowed to wear cleats. 

Houston Sports Adventures - West Oaks
Ages: 5-12
Houston Sports Adventures will host summer baseball camps through the Post Oak Little League organization at TH Rogers School campus. A camper to coach ration of 6-to-1 insures that each child receives individual attention in order to further develop their skill set. The camp day is broken up into two parts with campers rotating through hitting and fielding stations for the first two hours and playing a game of baseball during the last hour. Each camp session runs Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-noon. Sessions are available in June and July.
