Best Things To Do in Atlanta in October with Kids: State Fair, Goblins, Halloween

October is typically a month that's bustling with events and outdoor festivals in Atlanta as the metro area savors the fall season. Although there may be fewer in-person events in 2020, we've found plenty of fun things to do in Atlanta with the kids all October!

Give the kids a scare at two Halloween-themed events this October. Zoo Atlanta gives visitors a peek into what happens after hours on a guided Twilight Trek while goblins stir up some fun at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Don't miss out on a chance to visit Atlanta's best pumpkin patches for fall harvest activities.

It's the perfect season for festivals and fairs, too! Day trip to Hampton to hit the rides at the Georgia State Fair or head to the Beltline for a mega arts festival. We'll also be checking out some more drive-in movies in the Atlanta with family flicks at The Springs Cinema & Taphouse.

Read on for the best things to do in Atlanta this weekend and for the rest of October. You can also celebrate the season with our Halloween Activities Guide.
