Dining out in Atlanta is truly "dining out" at these fabulous restaurants with outdoor seating! Eating al fresco with the fam has so many fun benefits besides tasty food—enjoy nature, allow kids to get their wiggles out, play games (like cornhole and Jenga), and jam out to live music if available. And because its 2022, restaurants with outdoor seating provide a safe setting for anyone following strict COVID protocols who still want to dine out.

Patios at restaurants with outdoor seating are awesome family dining options almost the whole of the year (winter might be a tough season to sell to the kids). Depending on which restaurant with outdoor seating your family selects, there may be some entertaining people-watching options or musical acts to catch. If your family loves a good restaurant patio, check out this great group of Atlanta restaurants with outdoor seating.

Enjoy delicious Israeli food on the BeltLine at Rina. This casual restaurant offers indoor sitting, as well as a to-go window where you can easily grab your food and people-watch on the eatery's patio.

The Chastain - Chastain Park

Chastain Park is a lush area and offers the best of restaurants with outdoor seating, like The Chastain. It's a great eatery serving American comfort food, and a great option for early risers is that the AM Cafe opens as early as 7am weekdays and 8am on weekends.

Shake Shack - Buckhead

With "shake" in the name, you know Shake Shack is a favorite for kids. While there are a few locations across metro Atlanta, the Buckhead location has a sweet upstairs outdoor seating area that overlooks all of Buckhead Village. Chase those shakes with the restaurant's famed hamburgers and crinkle cut fries.

Longleaf Restaurant at Atlanta Botanical Garden - Midtown

Upscale restaurant Longleaf is located within Atlanta Botanical Gardens and presents a picturesque view of Mother Nature while you eat. There's no bad view in the restaurant as Longleaf is a contemporary glass structure—in fact, it won the 2020 Open Table Diners' Choice award for its magical garden views. Note: Garden admission is required to visit Longleaf.

Park Tavern - Midtown

Consistently voted the best patio and dog-friendly restaurant in Atlanta, Park Tavern was made for al fresco dining. Located at Piedmont Park, this beloved Atlanta staple not only offers delicious fare for the whole family (including little Fido), but also fun event programming, like an ice skating rink in winter and FREE music concerts in summer.

Bartaco - West Midtown

Bartaco is popular with kids and adults, for its tasty tacos and margaritas (for the over 21 set). And though there are three locations, we recommend the West Midtown location for its spacious patio and comfortable outdoor seating.

Moxie Taco - Marietta

This Mexican restaurant patio is great for families, overlooking a relaxing water feature in Marietta. Moxie Taco serves tacos, rice bowls, quesadillas, and more, and sometimes offers live music during warmer months of the year.

Food Halls - Multiple Locations

We're taking restaurants with outdoor seating to include the various food halls located across Atlanta. Places like Ponce City Market, Krog Street Market, Chattahoochee Food Works, Marietta Square Market, and more are great spots to dine indoors or outdoors. In fact, you may even make a friend at these tasty establishments as some of the tables are large enough to accomodate multiple families.

Canton Street Restaurants - Roswell

We couldn't narrow down downtown Roswell's famed Canton Street to just one eatery since the street is packed with door-to-door restaurants with outdoor seating. Enjoy the culture and fun of Canton Street and eat outdoors at places like 1920 Tavern, Ceviche Taqueria & Margarita Bar, Zest, Roux on Canton, Mac McGee, and more!

Bone Garden Cantina - West Midtown

Kids love tacos and parents love margaritas so West Midtown's Bone Garden Cantina is the best of both worlds! In addition to a colorful patio, Bone Garden has a really cool store on site, where families can visit while waiting for their meals (make sure kids are supervised).
