The Whitney Museum of American Art kind of slips your mind. "Oh, yeah that museum with the biennial." But, this summer The Whitney is going to be rocking for kids as they celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Summer of Love. Check out the free WhitneyKids Rock Festival this weekend at the museum New York loves to forget.

WhitneyKids Rock! Summer Festival Saturday, June 30 2007 1pm to 4pm Rain date: Saturday July 7th 2007 Families with kids ages 4 to 12 are invited to discover the spirit of the 60s, in conjunction with the upcoming special exhibition, Summer of Love, through live music performances and hands-on activities. Tune in and turn on to the sights and sounds of the "Summer of 1967"! Enjoy performances by students of "The Paul Green School of Rock Music", the nation's premier performance based rock music program for kids ages 8 to 18. Create your own wearable art work inspired by the music and mood of the era! FREE for families with kids ages 4 to 12. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
