Long Island Kids' Activities June 29 & 30: Magic With Evan, David Oliver Magic Show, Target Rock Beach Clean Up

Welcome warm weather and the start of summer vacation! There's lots of indoor and outdoor fun to be had on Long Island this weekend. In the mood for a magic show or two? Then head on over to The Dolphin Bookshop in Port Washington to see Magic With Evan: Teen Magician. The Do Magic: David Oliver Benefit Show at the Bellmore Movie Theatre in Bellmore is not only a magic show, but a fundraiser to help a fellow magician. Got two hours of time to help remove trash from the beach? Then head on over to the Target Rock Beach Clean Up in Huntington. Family Adventures: Butterfly Safari at the Caleb Smith State Park Preserve in Smithtown is the perfect place to get up close and personal with these beautiful winged creatures. Also on tap: Kids & Family Program: Crayon Tour at Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury, and When Is A Crab Not A Crab at the Sands Point Preserve in Port Washington. Target Rock Beach Clean Up - Huntington
Long Island is home to many beautiful beaches. Volunteer two hours of time to help remove trash from Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge. Snacks and water are provided. Registration is required for this free event.

Children's Nature Photography - Oakdale
Connetquot River State Park Preserve is a beautiful setting for taking photographs in nature. Bring the whole family and the camera along and discover the best places to snap some pics. Advance reservations are required.

Kids & Family Program: Crayon Tour - Old Westbury
Bees make wax. Wax mixes with natural pigments and voilá, the crayon is born. At Old Westbury Gardens, learn all about crayon creation and make a cool sun catcher craft to take home. Perfect for kids 4-12 years of age.

Family Adventures: Butterfly Safari - Smithtown
At Caleb Smith State Park Preserve, learn about the butterfly, make a related craft, and go into the butterfly garden to catch and release these beautiful winged creatures. Reservations are required for this program.

Magic With Evan: Teen Magician - Port Washington
Evan the teen magician has many tricks up his sleeve at this performance at The Dolphin Bookshop. Enjoy some tea and cookies while watching the show.

When Is A Crab Not A Crab - Port Washington
Walk along the beach and see crabs up close and personal at the Sands Point Preserve. Pre-registration is required for this all ages program.

Do Magic: David Oliver Benefit Show - Bellmore
Bring the family and see cool magic tricks on stage at the Bellmore Movie Theatre. This show is a fundraiser for David Oliver, an important figure in the magic community, who is battling lung disease.

Afternoon With An Owl - Oyster Bay
It's all about owls at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center. Listen to a story, enjoy a live presentation with a resident owl, then discover what's inside of an owl pellet.

Remarkable Renaldo Presents Dishwasher’s Circus - Garden City
Follow the silly antics of Remarkable Renaldo the clown, who works as a dishwasher in a restaurant. The Long Island Children's Museum theater is the place to see juggling, pranks, and magic. After the show meet Al Calienes, author and illustrator of Renaldo Joins the Circus.
