Weekend Round-Up of Long Island Family Events April 17th-18th

Earth Day isn’t officially until April 22nd, but there is no shortage of events going on this weekend to commemorate the occasion. Additionally, there is a family fun day taking place at Hofstra University to celebrate the Irish culture. There is also an opportunity for children to view the pages of their favorite storybooks projected onto the dome of a planetarium. Enjoy!

Come and celebrate nature and our lovely planet at the Refuge during this all day affair! The day will include guided nature walks, live animal presentations, crafts for children, environmental exhibitors, and self-guided kayaking and canoeing on Old Ice Pond. This celebration is offered by Quogue Wildlife Refuge and Eastern Long Island Audubon Society.

Irish Family Fun Day gives local students and families a chance to learn more about and celebrate Irish culture.  Children will learn about Irish arts and crafts, Gaelic sports, traditional music, step dancing, and the Irish language.  Children will share what they have learned during an ice cream and cookies social.
