Weekend Fun for Westchester Kids: Disney’s Tarzan, Winter Hike, College Basketball, Jan. 2-3
Hear that? It’s the calm that follows the holiday hullabaloo. This weekend, activities for Westchester families quiet down a notch, so there’s a greater emphasis on R&R than on ultra-stimulating fanfare.
A great holiday antidote might be a Winter Hike to Lost Pond—both to get back to nature and to burn off all that feasting! For some high-flying fun, see a performance of Disney's Tarzan or watch the swooshes and alley-oops of Iona College Women's Basketball. Join in a FREE wood-working project at Home Depot Kids' Workshops or bop along with your BFFs at Teen Movie.
Refer to our Event Calendar for our daily listings, and complete an easy new year’s resolution to take more advantage of all the Westchester and the Hudson Valley have to offer by signing up for our FREE weekly newsletters!
Happy New Year from your mom friends at Mommy Poppins!

Journey to Staten Island for MakeFest 1716-2016, held at NYC's only living history museum, Historic Richmond Town, for an evening of cool and creative projects, both old school and high-tech. Craft a retro paper lantern with a modern LED light and use it on your do-it-yourself maker's journey through the village. Digital Polaroids, 3D printing, tinsmithing, hearth cooking and fashioning retro holiday ornaments are some of the other activities on tap. On the way, chat with crafts people from various eras, enjoy live dancing and music and sip on homemade hot chocolate (grown-up get mulled wine).
Introduce the kids to the multicultural music of Sonia de los Santos Concert, where popular children’s entertainer Dan Zanes makes a guest appearance. Songs from her new family album, Mi Viaje: De Nuevo León to the New York Island, include maintaining your heritage after moving to a new country.
