Summer Solstice Things to Do this Weekend in CT: Strawberry Festival, Camp Out, Carnival & Fireworks
Summer solstice means more time outside to have fun and we like that here at CT Mommy Poppins! This weekend you can celebrate summer with luscious strawberries at a Strawberry Festival in Bethlehem. Enjoy a magical fireworks show over Candlewood Lake. Camp out at The New Canaan Nature Center's Great American Camp Out and have fun at an old fashioned Carnival and Car Show in Washington.
OUR LATEST VIDEOS
Some great library events happening this weekend are: Eric Carle's 82nd birthday celebration in Kent, Tales to Trails reading program in Wilton and the Super Hero Reading Program in Litchfield.
In the museums: Stepping Stones Museum's Accessibility Day shares a great lesson about living with disabilities. For those feeling artsy, families can have a hands-on experience at the Aldrich or they can paint at both the Weir Farm in Wilton and the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme.
History buffs: Children get a special tour at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center and Graveyard Shift Ghost Tours for 10 and up take place at the Mark Twain House.
Special Sunday Fun can be found at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center as well as the Litchfield Historical Society Museum.
All this AND the Big Apple Circus is still showing in Stamford! Have fun out there! And remember you can always check our full event listings on the Calendar.

Mary Beth Lawlor
After fulfilling a childhood dream of one day living in a high-rise building in a big city (eight years in LA and 10 in Manhattan), Mary Beth is now partially fulfilling another childhood dream. As a kid, she envisioned her four gorgeous children running through the idyllic countryside while she created pottery in her studio. Well, fast forward 30 years and there is no pottery studio and only two kids but she has the idyllic countryside part down. After studying business and art, and then working in corporate marketing, graphic design as well as event planning and development, Mary Beth is now happily blogging.
