Long Island Weekend Events July 9-11: Toy Tech, Sunken Forest, Seaside Stories and More!
The theme for weekend activities seems to be outdoors, outdoors and more great outdoors! Your children can participate in several events on the Island while learning about the natural world around them or creating their own masterpiece. Explore the beauty of Fire Island or listen to stories that remind you of the seaside. Take a few steps back in time and watch an old fashioned baseball game. If you’ve got a future tech-guru on your hands, have them explore toys and try to make their own. There’s something for everyone this weekend. Crayon Tour

Have your children ever asked where crayons come from? Here’s an opportunity to show them how much work (and nature) is involved in making those beautiful colors that we use each day. Learn about the life of a bee and how wax is made. The children will make a sun catcher craft. The tour is free with general admission - $10 for adults, $5 for kids 7-12 and free for children 6 and under.
Junior Ranger: Path to Discovery Program

For children 8-12 years old, this is a perfect way to explore Fire Island. The Junior Rangers will learn about how the Fire Island National Seashore is protected; there is a different hour and a half program each week. The cost is FREE.
Toy Tech Exhibit
Saturday and Sunday, July 10th and 11th, 10AM -4PM

In a hands-on exhibit, children will learn about how toys work and the secrets behind making them. Children are able to create and test out their own designs. The cost is $8 per person. Please note, that timed tickets may be required depending on the volume of people visiting.
Sunken Forest Tour

In an hour and a half walking tour, explore the grand canopy of trees known as the Sunken Forest on Fire Island. The cost is FREE. Call for additional information.
Seaside Stories & Crafts
