Leaf covered lawns have given way to snow dusted yards.  There's one more week before Christmas and the New Year take center stage. But there's plenty of celebrating to do this weekend. Head to Old Bethpage Village Restoration for a step back in time with their beautiful candlelight displays or celebrate the winter solstice amidst nature. Your children are sure to enjoy the festivities with lights and trains - ah, to be a kid again! And don't forget to check out our Holiday Guide and Holiday Shows, as well!

Tickets are $10.
This Saturday, opening night of Old Bethpage’s Candlelight Evenings, features a Christmas Tree lighting at 5:30PM. Take a stroll throughout the village, peering into 19th Century buildings illuminated with candles and festively decorated in authentic style. Candlelight Evenings is the last opportunity to visit the Village Restoration until spring! There’s music, entertainment and an all around feeling that makes you really believe that it IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Give a hearty welcome to the next season and bid farewell to fall (although it seems like autumn is a distant memory already!) Join some terrific storytellers as they talk about the season to come. Little ones can even tell their own tale at the story tree. Crafts will be made and refreshments served. Stay late so that you can walk to the river and watch the sun set.

In this season of lights, what better way to celebrate by allowing your kids to learn how to make their own candle. In this candle design workshop, the children will use beeswax to create their own symbol hope and life for their holiday celebration.
