January brings plenty of things to do in Los Angeles which kicks off with New Year's Day and moves on to kids going back to school and then Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend! Don’t miss our favorite kid-friendly events and activities in Los Angeles this month.

2022 starts with that Southern California classic, the Rose Parade, and things only get better from there. The month continues with a bevy of returning favorites, from the Wallis's Sunday Fundays to Nothin' But Sand Beach Clean-ups to Santa Monica Symphony's in-person concerts. We can toast to dear old Ben Franklin on the occasion of his 316th birthday, and party at the Beach House for Marion Davies' 124th. And the whole town comes out to honor the man who was a King.

Also, this month take advantage of our recent rains and go Sledding and Snow Tubing near Los Angeles, take one of these Amazing Winter Day Trips, and discover one of 11 Waterfall Hikes Every LA Family Should Know.

Be sure to check with the venue for its COVID guidelines and requirements before heading out to any event. Many places in LA now require guests to show either proof of vaccination or a negative test; some events are getting canceled or postponed at the last minute due to the latest COVID surge. We are doing our best to keep up with the changes, but strongly encourage you to check with the venue before an event.
