POSTPONED Happy Birthday Marion
UPDATE: The Happy Birthday Marion celebration at the Annenberg Community Beach House has been postponed. New date to be announced!
"As recovery efforts from the Palisades Fire continue, the Beach House will remain closed, and all programs and classes are suspended through the end of January."
Santa Monica Conservancy docents turn the spotlight on Marion Davies—actress, philanthropist, famed party hostess, and mistress of media tycoon William Randolph Hearst—in honor of her birthday.
In attendance are Davies’ biographer Lara Gabrielle and Hollywood historian Marc Wanamaker, both of whom will be meeting guests at the historic Julia Morgan-designed Guest House.
The party runs from 1pm to 3pm.
At 3pm,there is a screening of the 1923 silent film Little Old New York. Set in early 19th century New York, Davies plays a young woman who disguises herself as her brother to claim an inherited fortune.
Reservations requested; RSVP online for the courtyard festivities and/or the screening.
Parking is available for $3 per hour or $8 per day.
