Senator Kamala Harris leads the way as grand marshal for the 2018 Annual Kingdom Day Parade.
One of the nation's largest events celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., the Kingdom Day Parade generally attracts more than a million people to view the procession that steps off onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard at Western and continues two miles until Crenshaw. The parade then turns down Crenshaw and ends at Vernon.
More than 150 floats (three times the number in the Rose Parade!), 20 drill teams, ten dance groups, celebrities, politicians, and military marching bands mark the occasion. Streets around the parade area are closed from 8.30am. This year's theme is "When They Go Low, We Go High".
