Mommy & Me Classes on the North Fork

8/26/13 - By Jessica Murphy

As fall approaches and the days start to get shorter, it is time to start thinking about enrolling babies and toddlers in classes. Mommy & Me classes are a great way to get out of the house on a rainy day, plus the classes give parents and children an opportunity to socialize and learn. From swimming to the arts, there are a number of options available on the North Fork. Looking for a class elsewhere on Long Island? Check out our After School Programs, Classes, and Activities Guide

Toddlers are always on the go and during the My Baby & Me classes at Gym Nation, they stay active in a safe and structured environment. These sessions introduce toddlers to gymnastics and how to move their bodies, all while having fun. Register for Diaper Daredevils (ages 12-36 months) or Tiny Tykes (ages 18 months-3 years), which are parent/child classes. As children get older, there are plenty of classes available for all ages and skill levels.

The libraries in the area welcome children even when there aren't any programs scheduled, so take advantage of this free community resource. The children's section in many of the libraries are separate from the rest of the library. Playing with the provided toys and reading aloud won't disturb others. Check out the libraries website or call for more information about classes, story times, and special events.
