Happy weekend before Thanksgiving! In between your preparations, this weekend you can take the kids to a Thanksgiving celebration at the Long Island Science Center, a nature walk at the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center in Yaphank, or how about a show? Beauty and the Beast's Magical Christmas is playing at the Vanderbilt Carriage House, and The Velveteen Rabbit is playing at the Tilles Center. Now there's even more reason for families to plan the weekend around a visit to Nassau County Museum of Art. Each Sunday the museum offers a 1 p.m. docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition and supervised art activities for the whole family beginning at 1:30 p.m. Special family guides of the main exhibition are available in the galleries. Family Sundays at the Museum is free with museum admission, reservations are not needed. Weekends only there is a $2 parking fee (members, free).
