Long Island Kids' Activities August 17 & 18: Annual Italian Festival, Heritage Crafts Fair, The Frog Prince

This weekend, head over to Michael J. Tully Park for the Italian Festival, which boasts rides, games, and live music. In Huntington Village, local artisans show off their wares at the Heritage Crafts Fair. In the mood for a show, or two? The Frog Prince hits the stage in this musical production at Theatre Three. Little Orphan Annie, everyone's favorite curly-haired, red headed girl takes center stage at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. Also on tap: Back To School Day at the Stony Brook Post Office, and Ocean Science Sunday: Water Fest at The Whaling Museum and Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor. Annual Italian Festival: Sons Of Italy, Cellini Lodge #2206 - New Hyde Park
At Michael J. Tully Park, enjoy rides, Las Vegas style games, vendors, and live music. On Saturday evening, enjoy a fireworks show. Community Appreciation Day rounds out the festivities on Sunday.

Heritage Crafts Fair - Huntington

In this musical at Theatre Three, Prince Darnay meets up with an enchantress and finds himself in a lily pad of trouble.

Back To School Day - Stony Brook
The festivities at the Stony Brook Post Office include face painting, balloon animals, horse-drawn carriage rides, and an appearance by Cubby the Clown. The Suffolk County Police Department is on hand to fingerprint kids for registry into the Amber Alert System.

Ocean Science Sunday: Water Fest - Cold Spring Harbor
At The Whaling Museum and Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor, enjoy water balloon games, activity stations, outdoor sprinklers, and arts and crafts. This event is featured on our August Go List.

Plaza Theatrical Productions Presents Beauty And The Beast - Garden City
At the Long Island Children's Museum, enjoy this musical about a girl who discovers what true beauty really means.

Car Show - Mineola
At the Autoseum, view a wide assortment of cars on display. Trophies are awarded to the most popular vehicles. The Batmobile makes a special appearance as well.

Paint Ball Shoot Out - Seaford
At the Lufbery Aerodrome at Cedar Creek Park, test out those shooting skills and watch as radio controlled planes get covered in paint.

Kid Stock - Port Washington
At the North Hempstead Beach Park, enjoy this open air festival, which features live music and a DJ party.
