Family Friendly Restaurants In Greenport

Greenport is a quiet harbor town near the end of the North Fork of Long Island. There are a variety of dining options that are perfect for families. The views are beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxed. Take some time to stroll through town and browse through the shops before or after grabbing a bite to eat. There are plenty of places with outdoor seating and the breeze from the water makes it pleasant, even on a hot day. When heading out to Greenport, make a day out of it and stop by one of the family friendly vineyards along the way. Here are a few restaurants that are standouts when it comes to kid-friendly food and atmosphere.

The location of this restaurant is ideal. It is steps from the carousel in Mitchell Park, right near the water. It has a nice outdoor deck and fantastic views. It is the perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner. The kid's menu reflects the variety of food available. There are the standard chicken fingers and mac 'n cheese options, but also a cucumber and avocado sushi roll. Other menu options include a spicy ahi tuna roll, a blue canoe lobster roll, and BBQ baby back ribs. Even the pickiest eater in the group can find an appealing dish. On select weekends, enjoy live music on the deck.

This family owned and operated restaurant is popular for many reasons. The views of the boats and Shelter Island from its location on the pier are breathtaking. The lobster and truffle mac and cheese and the blackened fish tacos are some of the unique options featured, alongside the beer battered shrimp and steamed shellfish. There is a kids menu but with so many options on the menu, it almost isn't necessary. Prices are a bit on the high side but sitting outside by the water makes it worth it.

Both the brunch and dinner menus feature simple items with a twist. There's no kids menu, but the casual atmosphere and family friendly food selection makes a meal with kids relatively stress-free. On Mondays, the restaurant hosts a pig roast at 5 pm. The regular menu features burgers, hot dogs, cheese platters, soups, and salads.

Though not located in Greenport, this restaurant is well worth the short drive. The Greek specialties and entrees are delicious. For the less adventurous diners in the group, the menu also includes burgers and sandwiches. Before 11:30 am, the restaurant serves eggs, hot cakes, and French toast. The large outdoor seating area is a wonderful place to enjoy a casual dinner. Don't forget to order some fresh squeezed lemonade. Be sure to save some room for one of the homemade desserts.

The Square is created by award-winning chef and North Fork native Keith Luce. It is actually three restaurants. Main is a sit-down restaurant and oyster bar, which draws a more adult crowd in the evening, but it has a kid's menu. It is a nice option for a fancy seafood dining experience. The other two establishments are very casual with outdoor seating in a small courtyard. Nosh has sandwiches, baked goods, and coffee. Prep is a perfect spot for kids with flat breads, hot dogs, tacos, and ice cream.
