Grand Prix New York: Go Karts, Bowling, Arcade and Arts Garage
We mentioned Grand Prix New York in our post on things to do on Father's Day. My husband and son love the race track and although my girls aren't old enough to race yet, they have fun at the arcade and bouncy castle. They also love cheering their father and brother on at every turn. Now there's even more to enjoy with the grand opening of Arts Garage, Grand Prix's new visual arts studio for all ages. Arts Garage offers guided activities that include pottery painting, mosaic tiling, beading, even cupcake design in a bright, cheerful and beautifully stocked studio.
OUR LATEST VIDEOS
Grand Prix New York truly does have something for everyone from tots to adults. With the race tracks, arcade, bowling alley and full service restaurant, Fuel, this Mount Kisco staple is a fantastic family fun destination. When we heard about Arts Garage, we had to check it out so we made sure we were there for the grand opening weekend. Upon arrival, my girls made a beeline for one of the crafts table, where they instantly set to work creating their masterpieces. My son took his time, walking through the entire studio, taking in the shelves of pottery waiting to be painted, bright purple chalkboard walls with cheerful messages and pictures, pieces of artwork already on display and the "stuff your own" animal center.
After my kids finished their art projects and explored Arts Garage from front to back, we headed to the tracks. My son couldn't wait to race. Grand Prix creates an authentic racing experience, especially for kids. After an instructional video, racers are invited to suit up in racing gear before heading to the track. All racers are required to wear a helmet. My son had a blast on the track and was all smiles as he climbed out of the go kart after his last race.
We stayed and ate dinner at Fuel, where you can expect staples like wings, burgers and pizza. Before heading home, we hit up the arcade. There are games for all ages, including a few that even my 4 year old was able to play. Everyone had a great time and with kids ages 4, 6 and 10, any outing is an immediate success when there's something to cater to each age group. Grand Prix definitely delivers.
Grand Prix New York is located at 333 North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 3-10pm; Friday, Noon-Midnight; Saturday, 10am-Midnight and Sunday from 10am-9pm.
The new studio, Arts Garage, is currently open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-7pm with plans to expand those hours in the future. There is no studio fee, just pay for the crafts you want. Walk-ins are welcome. Activities include paint your own pottery, "stuff your own animal" center, mosaic tiling, glass fusing, cupcake design, beading, holiday decoration making, art & yoga classes for kids and more. For adults, there will be wine and cheese nights and other social events.
Prices vary depending on what you do so check their website for full details or give them a call at (914) 241-3131.
