Guest Blogger: Amy Davis on Cool NYC Kids Music

3/18/07 - By Anna Fader
Amy Davis has a great blog about kids' music and media. The following are some upcoming rockin' NYC music events for kids that she put together for Mommy Poppins' readers. Thanks, Amy.
NYC is a great place to be if you’re looking for kids’ music that rocks. Brooklyn is the home of great kids’ artists like AudraRox, The Quiet Ones, and Dan Zanes – just to name a few. In addition, NYC is a frequent stop for artists on tour. On March 24th, families can catch Milkshake at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center at 1:30 pm. Milkshake plays amazing pop-rock songs that just happen to be for kids. Also on March 24, Chicago-based Justin Roberts will be performing at Symphony Space (95th & Broadway) at 11 am and 2 pm. Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players, deliver a fabulous live show for kids and parents. More family concerts at Symphony Space are coming up in April, Ralph's World and Tom Chapin – Ralph’s World is on April 14 and Tom Chapin is on April 21. Park Slope Parents has released a CD of children’s music featuring 17 songs by well-loved musicians celebrating family life in the big city. March 25 is the CD release party and concert for the Park Slope Parents CD at Southpaw, 4 pm. To see more of the great musicians featured on the album check out the full calendar of performances by PSP CD artists.
