Cause it's all about everyone's favorite Jewish holiday - Passover! Perfect for kids, Passover is a great mix of story telling, singing, family time and of course eating. And there is no better place (except maybe Jerusalem) to celebrate Passover than in New York, in fact even the Pope is coming to town this year! Benedict will be heading to services at Park East Synagogue marking just the third visit by any pope to a synagogue in the 2,000 year history of the Roman Catholic Church (weird, right?). So, now that you know its coming, by the way Passover is officially from sundown April 19th through April 27th, its time to get your matzo balls ready.

Passover Resources
There is a lot to prepare for a Seder and perhaps the most important is picking your haggadah. My very favorite haggadah is the original 1969 Freedom Seder which we used one year at my in-laws house in Long Island - all I can say is I dare you. But when you have little kids present, you probably want something a bit more standard and abrieviated. Jewish Freeware has a collection of several different haggadahs and Rabbi Amy Scheinerman's site has a really nice and simple children's haggadah you can download for free as well as other good info. Kosher4passover has a nice line up of Passover sons that you can listen to in case all you can remember is DA-DA-YE-NU.
Passover Food
Passover food, while not Haute cuisine, can be tasty if you give it your all. And who better to tell you how to make Jewish food than everyone's favorite shiksa, Martha Stewart! From gefilte fish to macaroons to matzo brie, you know it will be good when it's Martha.
Or you could always opt for the time old favorite of ordering in, Fresh Direct will deliver a Seder plate to your door for just $19.99 and while you are at it, might as well just order the whole meal from them, they even deliver the Kosher wine!
Passover Events
Check out these events to get geared up for the festivities:
An early Passover Event, the 92nd Street Y has kids making matzo plates and covers on Thursday, April 10 from 1-2pm.
On Saturday, April 12th at 2:30, as part of the JCC's R+R Shabbat Series, watch a free Storahtelling, an interactive performance with live music, actors and puppet actors who explore the sequel to the story of Passover.
On Sunday, April 13th from 11-1, check out a puppet musical and early Passover celebration at the Museum of Jewish Heritage or celebrate at the Eldridge Street Synagogue from 1-4 where children can hunt for leavened bread and while parents taste wine.
