Camps R Us Offers Long Island Kids a Summer of Fun

Summer is right around the corner (hooray!), which means it’s time to think about camp for the kids. Why not check out Camps R Us? Founded by Long Island natives Joanne and Gary Turnier, Camps R Us aims to give families the highest quality summer camp programs at the most affordable price.
OUR LATEST VIDEOS
With six convenient locations (Baldwin, Bellmore, Farmingdale, Hicksville, Valley Stream, West Islip) - all close to the Long Island Rail Roads, major roads, and highways - dropping the kids off at camp on the way to work is a snap.
Each Camps R Us facility offers a variety of fun indoor and outdoor activities for children ages 3 to 15, including arts & crafts, athletics (including professional tennis instruction), sports, gaming, swimming, bowling, and more. Campers can also choose to focus on advanced activities such as dance, theater, basketball, flag football, chess, LEGO, or jewelry making. Special events—Crazy Hat Day, Sundae, Color War, Talent Show, etc.—are always popular days at the camp sites.
And while the focus is on fun, there’s plenty of learning going on. Kids can avoid summer learning loss with EduCamp, a free-of-charge program that reviews ELA and math skills with certified teachers. Camps R Us is also offering programs in science, technology, and engineering for the first time this year. In fact, everything at Camps R Us is structured around a specific goal, such as improving gross and fine motor skills, teaching teamwork, coping with winning and losing, compromise, and developing friendships.
Aside from having a great time, parents want to know that their kids are in good hands. Camps R Us is an ACA-accredited, BBB Accredited with an A+ rating. It has won the Safety 1st Award five years running and been voted Best Camp by Long Island Press. All senior staff is American Red Cross (ARC) trained in First Aid, CPR, AED and Anaphylaxis Response, and all group leaders are ARC Pool Activity Leaders (Lifeguard Managers) for pool activities. Campers are separated by age, and each group is kept small so that staff can easily keep an eye on all kids and give personal attention to everyone.
