Wondering about Halloween? How About a Drive-thru Stranger Things Haunted House?
The Halloween talk has already begun. Will there be trick-or-treating? If so, will everyone wear Darth Vader masks? Should we buy candy, or will we just end up eating it ourselves? The trick-or-treat debate will doubtless go on right up until Halloween night, but we already have some answers to the haunted house questions that affect bigger kids: Universal's Halloween Horror Nights and Knott's Scary Farm have both canceled their epic annual haunts for the 2020 Halloween season. But out of the ashes of those haunts has risen another—a haunt likely to be THE Halloween ticket to buy this season: the Stranger Things Drive-Into Experience.
OUR LATEST VIDEOS
Organizers promise to turn a corner of Downtown LA into Hawkins, Indiana this October (with a few detours into the Upside Down) for a drive-through haunted house that features special effects and situations from the popular Netflix series. The Stranger Things Drive-Into Experience transports visitors back to 1985 and the key locations of the TV show, including the Starcourt Mall. Without leaving the safety of their cars, guests travel back in time to hunt monsters with Eleven and her friends.
Tickets for the haunt go on sale August 26 at noon and are likely to be in high demand. Prices start at $59 per car for the one-hour immersive experience. Specific location is still TBA. Like other haunted houses, this drive-in is not recommended for kids under 12 years old.
With so much of 2020 canceled, and so many of our annual rituals denied us, this brand-new, COVID-friendly, socially distanced, Stranger Things themed haunted house sounds like a welcome treat—as long as you can handle a little bit of a scare.
